Overview

In this role, you will be a key contributor to a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a national data platform. Your primary focus will be the implementation of FHIR exchange services to facilitate efficient, scalable, and secure data exchange. Success in this role requires problem-solving skills to overcome software limitations and a willingness to work flexible hours to address operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering
    • Implement and maintain health information exchange platforms based on business requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with healthcare facilities, partners, team members, and business units to understand needs, develop new features, and ensure timely delivery.
    • Recommend and guide healthcare facilities on the appropriate data exchange methods.
    • Design technical solutions that account for various health information systems (HIS), environments, and constraints.
    • Coordinate with external parties and the infrastructure team to prepare and set up servers.
    • Manage subcontractors for the development of exchange systems.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the quality and functionality of developed solutions.
  • Operating
    • Supervise the operations team to monitor and maintain the system, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
    • Serve as the primary contact for system vendors and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • A positive working mindset that promotes collaboration and effective teamwork.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python development.
  • Strong understanding of data exchange using APIs or database connections.
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HL7 FHIR development is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency with Git for source control management.
  • Hands-on experience deploying software in a production environment.
